BPSC www.bpsc.bih.nic.in – Bihar Public Service Commission conducts the civil service examination in the state of Bihar. Bihar public service commission was established under the constitution of India. Bihar public service commission announced the recruitment for various post and invites the application for this post. BPSC select the applicants for Civil Service Jobs in the State of Bihar, India according to the applicant’s rules of reservation. Candidates will be selected based on three methods. BPSC recruitment is made by two methods. One is direct recruitment and another one is Promotion. For direct recruitment job, BPSC conducts the competitive examination and selected the based on the merit list. Promotion is granted to civil servants through the departmental promotion committee. BPSC conducts the Group B and Group C common written examination under Article 320 and 321 of the constitution of India.
BPSC Exam Pattern
The BPSC has three tests. First, two tests are written exam. The third test is the personal interview. In BPSC two types of written test are there. First one is Preliminary examination. Candidates first attend this Preliminary written test. Selected candidates then attend the Main examination. Finally, a personal interview was conducted by the BPSC.

BPSC has Preliminary and main examination. The preliminary examination has 3 compulsory papers and the main examination has 2 optional papers.
BPSC Syllabus for Preliminary Examination
The preliminary examination has objective questions. The preliminary examination has three compulsory papers. Paper I is an English paper. Paper, I questions are based on spotting the errors, Antonyms and Synonyms, Filling in the blanks, Use preposition, Idioms/Phrases, Word Analogies, Test of Spelling, Rearrange Jumbled Sentence, Comprehension of passage and answering questions based on the passage, etc.
Paper I has 100 marks. Paper-II is a General Knowledge paper. Paper-II questions are based on Current events of national and international importance, history of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and world geography, Indian polity and economy, general mental ability questions, etc. paper II has 200 marks.
Paper III is a Mathematics paper. Paper III questions are based on Algebra, Linear algebra, calculus, trigonometry, analytic geometry, ordinary differential equations, dynamics, statics and hydrostatics, vector analysis, real analysis, complex analysis, partial differential equation, etc. Paper III has 200 marks.
BPSC Main Examination Syllabus
The main examination has two optional subjects. The candidate selects any two subjects from the optional subject list. Optional subjects are Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Agriculture, Zoology and Chemistry. Each optional subject has two papers. The first optional subject has two papers (Paper IV and Paper V) and Second optional subject paper has two papers (Paper VI and Paper VII). The totally optional subject has 4 papers. Each paper has 200 marks. Total marks for the main examination is 1200 marks.
BPSC Interview Procedure
After finishing the preliminary examination and main examination, BPSC conducts the interview for selected candidates only. Finally, Bihar Public Service Commission releases the results based on the performance in Preliminary examination, main examination and interview. BPSC allot 150 marks for interview.
Bihar Public Service Commission Eligibility Criteria
The minimum age for applying these examinations is 19 year. Maximum age limit for applying these examinations is 40 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the government rules. Candidate should have educational qualification as needed in for the post. Candidate should have graduated in Mathematics or Statistics or Geology or Natural Science or Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Economics or Chemical Engineering.
