SBTET is State Board of Technical Education and Training. Andhra Pradesh government formed this board in 1957. The prime motto was to develop technical education in the state. It acts as an add-on for Department of Technical Education. Its scope and goals differs from Department of TE. It acted as a statuary body in its early days.
SBTET’s major role is to oversee development and growth in technical education. Its prime functions include forming policies and conducting examinations. It provides training for teachers. It also supervises the teaching procedure in institutions. It reviews the syllabus and other related concerns. It advises the government on ways to develop areas in technical education. It provides affiliations to institutions and award certificates.

SBTET Exam Time Table Details
Every year SBTET conducts AP POLYCET. It is an entrance examination in Andhra Pradesh state. Students can apply for this exam in online mode only. Students have to pass SSC examination with an agg. 35% to pursue courses in SBTET. Please use the following link to apply for this exam sbtetap.gov.in or appolycet.nic.in. The age limit criteria for students are at least 15 years. Applications forms are available in May and SBTET conducts this exam around mid of June. The registration fee of AP POLYSET is Rs 350/-. The qualified students can then pursue many diploma courses. SBTET offers courses in engineering and non-engineering field.
SBTET offers various AICTE recognized technical, non-technical, craft, engineering, non-engineering courses. It offers many correspondence courses as well.
SBTET uses semester pattern in all the courses for regular, private and supply/backlog. It conducts the examinations twice a year. Odd semester exams for 1st, 3rd, 5th semester starts in October- November. While SBTET conducts even semester examination for 2nd, 4th and 6th sem in March-April. The supply/backlog exams also begin at the same time. SBTET uploads the schedule of upcoming exams on its official website. SBTET also uploads the hall tickets on the main site. Students can download it from there.
Last year odd semester regular and backlog exams commenced from 28th October 2015. While SBTET conducted the even semester examinations for all the courses in March-April. It started from 24th March 2016.
SBTET Result Declaration
SBTET announces the odd semester result in January, February and March for various courses. Even semester results are out in May,June or July. SBTET uploads the notification and the results on the main site as soon as it is out. Students can view their sbtet result from the official site or by visiting this link. http://results.andhraeducation.net/SBTET.
Students can get their result by providing the roll number. They can also check their supply/backlog result on the same page itself.
SBTET declared the result in second week of January 2016 for the exams held last year in Oct/Nov 2015. This year SDTET released the diploma results on 19th May 2016 for the exams held in March-April 2016. The rest of the results for various other polytechnic courses followed in May-June.
Students can also get their result via SBTET android app. The app is available on Google play store and students can download it from there. App also provides important alerts about time-table, exams and results.
Students can apply for the revaluation or re-verification as soon as the results are out. The re-checking and verification forms are available on the official SBTET site. This year the forms were available on the main site from 3rd June to 13th June 2016. Students have to pay for the forms via credit, debit card or internet banking.
