UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination) is conducted in 3 phases:
CSAT – Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), Main Examination – Subjective Type, and the Final Interview.
UPSC is considered one of the most competitive examinations across the globe mainly because of the vastness in the syllabus and the strength of candidates appearing for the examination in comparison to the number of available seats.
Every year, approximately 50 percent of the candidates who applied, appear for the civil services prelims examination. Of these, just 5 percent of the candidates qualify and appear for the UPSC Mains.
